The Shirlie Project is glad to invite charities to attend a training course organised in collaboration with our international partner Social Change School.

The aim of the workshops are to provide participants with the tools to improve the fundraisers daily work in our community.

As places are limited please book your place as soon as possible.


1st workshop: Fundraising beyond money

Content: What donors need in return when they give to charity? Is fundraising just all about money? The course will cover key points on how to establish a long lasting relation with your supporters.

Aims of the workshop: The workshop will help your charity to establish long lasting relations with your donors.

What participants will gain from attending: Participants will have a good understanding of how to apply philanthropy to daily fundraising work.

2nd workshop: Building a strong case for support

Content: Where to start? What makes us unique and sellable? This course is aimed to give participants some skills on how to write and speak in order to enthuse your audience and build a strong case for asking support.

Aims of the workshop: The workshop will help you to build a strong and catchy case for support to improve your charity income.

What participants will gain from attending: Participants will be able to write an effective pitch; appeal letters and case for supporting their charities.

Giampiero Giacomel is Director of Frame – International Master programme in Fundraising Management. Currently Head of Individual Giving at Scottish Opera, he previously worked as a fundraiser at the University of the Highlands and Islands; National Autistic Society and other charities in England; Scotland and abroad.

Social Change School is a leading European school for non-profit professionals in the field of fundraising, project management and emergency relief. Based in Madrid, Rome and London, since 1997 providing master programmes and training opportunities to those who want to develop strong skills in a specific area. Social Change School’s master programmes are accredited by EFA (European Fundraising Association).
