Following a sell-out programme of courses this summer, we are delighted to offer even more training opportunities to all across the archive sector.
When it comes to fundraising, why do your Friends Group and your volunteers matter?
'The Friends of Lancashire Archives has supported us for 30 years, with fundraising for document purchase, cataloguing, indexing and outreach projects amounting to around £200,000. In today's economic climate they are our lifeline.' (Jacquie Crosby, Lancashire Archives)
This course will explore how to introduce the idea of fundraising to Friends Groups and Volunteers, and address overcoming potential objections.
Learn how to build a mutually beneficial relationship with Friends and develop a shared fundraising goal. Understand how to run fundraising events with your Friends and volunteers; and how to tap into their own networks for advice and resources.
This course is aimed at those working within archive organisations on how to best work with and manage relationships with friends groups and volunteers. Potentially you will gain more from this course if you have written or are in the process of writing your fundraising strategy. Please note this course is not open to Friends Group members or volunteers themselves.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day, including lunch.
Once you have registered for this event, we will be in contact with you to get a better understanding of how to make sure the training meets your needs.
We are very pleased to be able to offer all attendees a fully-funded place on every Fundraising for Archives course. However, as our events have running costs funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we ask that you only register for a place if you will be able to attend on the day, and if you do become unable to attend, please give us as much notice as you can, so that we can make the most of all places available.
If you can no longer attend the event then please email email@example.com
