Are you new to fundraising? Do you want to launch or grow your fundraising income but you’re not sure where to start?

Our Fundraising for Beginners Training Course has been designed as the perfect introduction to the world of fundraising!

During this course, our Get Grants Expert will support you to develop a strong foundational understanding of different types of fundraising and explore what options are available and what will work best for your organisation. Attendees will also consider the importance of a fundraising strategy and receive practical support to put this into practice and confidently take the first steps towards achieving your fundraising goals!

WHO THIS COURSE IS FOR:

This course is suitable for new fundraisers and/or those with responsibility in their role for fundraising in some capacity. This course is designed to benefit small to medium-sized not-for-profit organisations. This course is most suitable for people who are very new to fundraising and/or organisations that are new to generating income through fundraising.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Over two 2-hour sessions, our Get Grants expert will take you through tips, tricks, and tools to increase your fundraising success. Our sessions will be highly interactive and help you find what fundraising works (and how to carry it out) for your organisation going forward.

This course will develop your knowledge and practical understanding of all forms of fundraising, build your confidence, and equip you with a range of skills that you can put into practice.

In this course, you will:

  • Learn how to make your organisation ‘fundable’.
  • Develop your knowledge of all different forms of fundraising (from community fundraising to grants to individual giving).
  • Establish the most suitable forms of fundraising for your organisation.
  • Develop your thoughts and ideas with live feedback and discussion.
  • Learn how to confidently deliver/launch new forms of fundraising.
  • Begin to develop a practical fundraising action plan for your organisation.
  • Feel more confident in fundraising.

About the Trainer

Andrew Ellison has 7 years’ experience in the voluntary sector, principally working in fundraising.

He has worked for charities of all sizes supporting a range of causes from tackling homelessness, mental health, medical research to supporting young people, international development work and sports-based projects.

Having previously worked as a sole fundraiser for 3 years at a homeless charity based in London, generating, he managed all their income streams to deliver hugely successful results and grow the charity’s income and sustainability. In that time, he also obtained a Fundraising Qualification from the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (CiOF).

He has a wide range of experience of a diverse range of grants (i.e. National Lottery, Esmee Fairburn, Children in Need) to support charitable organisations to deliver their vital work.

Andrew is passionate about the voluntary sector and has volunteered at a number of charities - Foundation Against Cancer, St Mungo’s, ScotsCare, Projects Abroad. He is also a career mentor at his previous university (Heriot-Watt University) supporting students to develop their confidence, employability, skills and knowledge to boost their prospects upon graduating.

He is a Bid Writer with Get Grants supporting a wide range of organisations to boost their fundraising income and also delivers our Introduction to Bid Writing Course.

Aside from his fundraising career, Andrew is a keen traveller and loves exploring new parts of the world and experiencing new cultures. He is also a keen sports fan, in particular football and tennis, and (sadly for him) he is a passionate Everton fan.
