Travel bursaries available

This year saw the first annual celebration of Windrush Day on 22 June 2019. The government sought to provide £500,000 of funding for events across the country. We therefore have two guest speakers who will share their success stories of securing this unique pot of funding.

Our first speaker to share their story is Claire Dove OBE, Chief Executive of Blackburne House and Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside. Our second speaker is Lifetime Community Achievement award-winner and community Campaigner, Clinton Smith. Both will talk about and share tips on how they got access to this funding, plus their celebrations.

However, there is more for you on the night with an exclusive viewing of a film about the founder of the Windrush Foundation, WWII veteran Sam King MBE, brought to you by the Black Heroes Foundation. We hope you will share stories and hear about possible opportunities whilst networking with drinks and canapés.

Come and find out about how Black Fundraisers UK, IoF Cultural Sector Network and the RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme can help you, plus meet other fellow fundraisers and share what you would like from us. Join us for an evening of fun, sharing, learning and networking, around the theme of Windrush.

Our aim for this event is to engage with BAME fundraisers and small charities serving BAME communities in the North West of England, in order to provide fundraising support, training, mentoring and networking opportunities to meet their specific needs.

This event is jointly hosted by the Institute of Fundraising (IoF), Black Fundraisers UK, IoF Cultural Sector Network and the RAISE programme funded by the Arts Council England.

TRAVEL BURSARIES AVAILABLE

A limited number of travel bursaries for this event (up to the value of £20) have been made available by the RAISE: Arts, Culture & Heritage programme. These are for arts and cultural sector fundraisers working or living more than 20 miles away from the venue. Bursaries are offered on a first-come first-served basis.
