Fungi of the Brecks - Grass and Heaths [FREE EVENT]
Sun 20 November 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
FUNGI WORKSHOP No 2
A FREE full day workshop, with field visit, on Grass/heathland Fungi in the Brecks, tutored by Tony Leech (Norfolk County Recorder for Fungi).
The day will start with a morning classroom session at Mundford Village Hall, followed by an afternoon of searching for and recording fungi in the field at Cranwich Heath. Both sessions will include focus on the importance of fieldcraft for ID, photography and preservation of specimens.
NB: If you have attended the first workshop on woodland Fungi, the morning classroom session for this event will be similar. You are therefore welcome to either attend this again (as repetition can be useful for learning) and join us for a 10am start; or you can arrive at the village hall later to join us in time for the field session. If you wish to book a place and intend to arrive for the field session only, please email or message us after booking a place and we will let you know the appropriate time to arrive.
MEET: Meet for a 10am start at Mundford Village Hall small hall:

Ample parking is available in front of the hall.
BRING: Other than in health and safety below it would be useful to your learning to bring a notebook and pen for notes on ID and for recording the species you see. A camera would also be useful. Please bring your own lunch.
HEALTH AND SAFETY: Remember to wear sensible clothing, including shoes and long trousers to avoid bites, stings and ticks. Bring plenty of water and food if you require. PLEASE KEEP DOGS ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES IF YOU BRING ONE.
WEATHER: Please note that in the unfortunate event if weather conditions are problematic (e.g. a hard frost prior to the event), we may have to alter or cancel at late notice.
