A night of funk and soul with some of the leading UK bands & DJs on the scene. This popular funk night has moved from its previous incarnation of 'Funk at the Forge;.

The Haggis Horns have been at the forefront of the UK funk scene since they drew attention as a horn section on the legendary album “Keb Darge Presents: The New Mastersounds". They have three highly acclaimed funk-fuelled albums under their belt, “Hot Damn! , “Keep On Movin” and recently released “What Comes To Mind” (Haggis Records). They will soon be releasing a new record so expect to hear brand new material.

They have been rocking crowds the world over for years, winning fans with their distinctive northern funk sound combining ass-shaking break-beats, afrobeat, soul and hip-hop.
Members of Haggis Horns have performed with the likes of Jamiroquai, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Corinne Bailey Rae, Mark Ronson, Robbie Williams, Craig Charles’ Fantasy Funk Band to name a few

Crowd Company are an 8 piece band with a modern, original take on vintage funk and soul. Brimfuls of energy with catchy hooks / melodies and tight groove, the band combine a retro Hammond organ-based sound with a virtuoso horn section, soulful lead and harmony vocals.

Since their latest album release via the Proper Records label the band have received rave reviews and radio airplay across Europe, including being playlisted on the BBC Radio 6 Craig Charles Funk & Soul Show. They are about to release a new album, produced by Alan Evans of legendary funk band Soulive. They will be previewing some of the new material at this gig.

They are acclaimed as one of London’s leading bands of the genre and as well as headlining sellout shows at many of London’s leading venue. The band have shared the stage with acclaimed Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, artists Saun & Starr, New Orleans funk legend George Porter Jr of The Meters (full UK tour), The New Mastersounds, JTQ, Corderoy, Monophonics, Alan Evans Trio (Soulive) UK tour.

BIG EASY BAND

Big Easy are a New Orleans influenced funk and soul band fronted by award winning singer David Migden. The band members have played on albums and gigged all over the world with artists such as Robert Plant, Matt Berry, Ruby Turner, Lillian Boutte etc.

DJ CALAMITY JADE

Hailing from Milan, Italy, DJ Calamity Jade is a leading DJ on the European funk scene. She is a DJ, Radio Host and manager of WIllWork4Funk promotion agency.

From spinning in leading clubs of Italy's funk/soul circuit, to guesting in club nights abroad (in Hamburg, Bonn, Cologne and Frankfurt in Germany, Geneva and Lausanne in Switzerland, Eygalières and Chambery in France), or opening/closing for acts such as The New Mastersounds (UK), The Mighty Mocambos (DE), Myles Sanko (UK), and more, Calamity Jade has been incessantly bringing her bags of vinyl goodness to the most discerning ears and funky dancefloors.

Since 2013 Jade hosts radio show "Funk Shui" on Radio Popolare and Controradio, which focuses on contemporary funk & soul and regularly features
