Spend a day with Funny Women exploring business from a different perspective. From making people laugh and getting paid for it to using humour to jet propel yourself to business success, the end goal is the same and ‘funny’ is good for business.
The next event in our Accidental Conference series focuses on how to successfully manage your finances both professionally and privately to provide a firm basis for a happier and more fulfilling life. Money and its management can be emotional so building up your personal confidence will help you cope – from asking to be paid to working out what to charge.
Our day of workshops combines performance based skills like improvisation, body language, negotiation and public speaking with topics such as ‘Tax and Tea’, crowdfunding and personal branding. From job interviews to speaking in public all of our interactions can benefit from some humorous motivation.
Ticket price includes your choice of four fantastic workshops, facilitated by journalists, accountants, comedians, investment bankers and vicars! We also have a magnificent headline speaker to talk about being funny and making money.
Here’s a taste of what you can expect:
Actor, improviser and seasoned Funny Women facilitator Jenny Bolt will lead a session in improvisation to help you in the art of thinking on your feet and applying it to business scenarios. And Funny Women founder Lynne Parker will show you how to throw away the corporate rule book and use humour to negotiate and build professional confidence.
In all this is an unbeatable and eclectic day of self-discovery. Everyone who has come to one of our previous Accidental Conference’s has found out something new about themselves and applied it to their lives, but don’t just take it from us!
Amalia Illgner a Journalism Masters Student at Goldsmiths said:
“My day at the first Accidental conference changed my life. I’d been an advertising copywriter for around seven years but had always wanted to be a journalist. The women I met inspired me to make the leap and start a masters in journalism. Last week I had my first piece in The Guardian. We all came away from that day knowing we’d been part of something special.”
This event is hosted by JLL who will provide a delicious buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day!
