Furloughed Workers: the Longer Term Career Implications
Event Information
About this event
To-date, furlough affected 11 million UK workers with the scheme costing the UK Government upward of £65 billion. In this session our two speakers will share findings from research interviews that captured line managers’ experiences of managing furloughed workers when they returned to work, as well as employees views on the short-term effects of furlough, plus their concerns about the longer-term career prospects.
Based on the research findings, the speakers will offer some suggestions for how HR professionals can better support managers of employees who have been affected by furlough, as well as the importance of HR planning for future furlough schemes.
