FETL invites you to attend the Further Education Trust for Leadership’s Spring Symposium which will be held in Birmingham. The event will focus the concept of place in further education and skills and the possibilities of local partnerships in improving skills provision and productivity. We are delighted that Preet Gill, Member of Parliament for Birmingham Edgbaston, will provide a keynote address, which will be followed by a panel discussion, chaired by Matthew Taylor Chief Executive for the RSA. featuring:

  • Dr Fiona Aldridge, Assistant Director for Research and Development, Learning and Work Institute

  • Mark Dawe, Chief Executive, Association of Employment and Learning Providers

  • Dr Julie Nugent, Director of Productivity and Skills, West Midlands Combined Authority

  • Marguerite Ulrich, Chief HR Officer, Veolia UK and Ireland

In addition to the discussion we also to invite you to join leaders and governors from training providers and colleges, LEP leads, local authorities, FETL partners and fellows, as well as other friends of the sector to network, lunch and share ideas on the leadership of thinking.

FETL is an independent think tank and charity working to strengthen and support the leadership of thinking in further education and skills. For too long, further education has been under-researched, under-theorised and under-understood. We have worked with College CEOs and Chairs across the UK, as well as the Social Market Foundation, IPPR, Policy Connect, the RSA, the Association of Colleges and others to deliver research examining all areas of the further education, skills and employment sectors.

We hope you will put this event in your diaries and join us on the 20th of April. For further information,

contact Simon, at our friends Policy Connect, via: simon.kelleher@policyconnect.org.uk or on 0207 202 8575.
