We invite you to join us for the Future Leaders Conference 2017 which will set the bar for clinical leadership development in Yorkshire and the Humber and beyond. With a theme of "Hybridity" and keynote speeches from The Rt Hon. the Lord Blunkett and the inspirational Paediatric Surgeon Miss Sanja Besarovic. Another highlight will be our balloon debate to find out which style of leadership is best once and for all! It will provide a great opportunity to network, showcase work from the area and inspire you to explore what leadership means for you.
Breakout workshops will include:
1) Dr Waqar Ahmed, GP and Comedian - join Waqar as he takes you on a humorous exploration of the importance of communication and listening techniques in team working an leadership.
2) Dr Jeanne Hardacre has a background in NHS management and and runs Impact4Health, an independent consultancy based in Sheffield. Join Jeanne to uncover some of the reasons why leading collaboratively and with compassion can be so tricky - and what we can do about it.
3) Dr Chantelle Mann, Human factors in patient safety. Chantelle is a Neonatal Subspecialty Registrar based at the Jessop Wing; Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. She was a fellow to the Future Leaders' Programme in 2015 with interests in patient safety and simulation. Since returning to clinical practice from the FLP, she now leads the regional programme of Human Factors for Patient Safety one-day multiprofessional workshops.
4) Dr Tim Williams, GP Principle in a busy Sheffield General Practice. Tim undertook training in NLP achieving master practitioner level in 2008 and more recently obtained a diploma in life-coaching. His professional coaching, mainly with doctors from the Y&H deanery, has combined with his clinical experience to develop a health-coaching model. This has been published in a book for patients and practitioners- ‘Don’t ‘Just’ STOPIT.DOIT. The workshop today will whisk you through the model so you can see the power of coaching for yourself, colleagues and patients. To take full advantage of the session please come prepared with something you want to STOP! (or DO)
