Future Melancholy Pop Music Album Launch
Sun 9 April 2017, 14:00 – 16:30 BST
Johnno Casson aka Snippet launches his album - Future Melancholy Pop Music soon to be released on Folkwit Records
Live music from Johnno Casson aka Snippet with special guests Naomi Omuoreh, Geoff Darby and Cara Bruns
Join us for an afternoon of delightful live wonky pop music that you can put inside your heart and call upon on special occasions. With a healthy dose of heartfelt and a generous dash of wonderful this promises to be a special date for your diaries and if you have seen Johnno perform before as a music artist or as the host of The Warm and Toasty Club you will know you are in for a really entertaining afternoon.
He started out with trip hop pioneers Deep Joy, working with the likes of Andrew Weatherall (Primal Scream), James Lavelle (Mo’ Wax/UNKLE) and Adrian Sherwood (On-U-Sound) and throughout his career Johnno has steadfastly charted his own course, creating a unique catalogue of recordings and performances via the labels Folkwit, Rash & Quirky Sounds whilst avoiding the prototype of the predictable singer-songwriter in favour of something wonderfully wonky and intriguing - knowing the really interesting stuff lays in the margins and borders.
Now a well-established and respected member of the DIY indie music scene in the UK Johnno continues to ride against the grain and yet somehow always comes up smelling of roses, in the process picking up great support from the likes of BBC 6 Music, Radio 1 and Amazing and an array of wonderful national and international radio stations, his song ‘We Luv The Sunshine’ features on the soundtrack to ace new movie The Space Between.
Johnno also runs the community arts organisation The Warm and Toasty Club http://thewarmandtoastyclub.weebly.com/
