Meet the legendary designers behind the most well-known brands. Learn secrets of British typography from the famous lettering artists.
Why is branding UK's number one export? What makes agencies in London so successful globally? Can a non-british designer become a british typographer? Where can we find examples of British typography and branding and how can we use them? All of these questions and many others will be answered during our programme.
This course is for people who want to learn more about the fascinating world of branding and typography and learn about best practices of using type in various areas of design; for those who want to meet in person legendary creative directors, who are responsible for great masterpieces. This programme will help you become better at what you do and find new ways to develop your career.
Programme includes lectures, workshops, visits to exhibitions, self-study work and professional discussions. You will also have a unique opportunity to get a behind the scenes look at the most influential agencies in London.
You will also explore the cultural life of London, including:
The walks cover sights of interest to the typographic historian as well as examples of beautiful letters found on the streets of the City of London which range from Roman inscriptions through to contemporary marks left by both the expert and amateur lettering artist.
VISITS TO SECRET LONDON SPOTS
You’ll be able to see the best view of London from the top of a skyscraper; you’ll get to visit the most exciting exhibitions of the year; and you’ll discover where London’s creative community spends their free time. In addition, you’ll get recommendations to guide your own explorations, with tips on the best places to eat, drink and relax in capital of Great Britain.
At the end of this intensive week we are hosting a party for all participants, with lecturers, special guests and people from the industry. After presenting certificates to each participant, we’ll have some drinks and a party. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to get useful contacts, be introduced and just enjoy the company of inspiring and successful people.
