Description

Event Details:

One thing we can say about the future of work with reasonable confidence is that there are now more articles, programmes, reports and books about it than ever before. Hardly a week goes by without a consultancy, think tank or university serving up a headline-grabbing vision of of the future.

  • Are the robots about to take most of our jobs? And if they do, will the leap in productivity leave us with unimagined wealth and leisure time? Or will it lead to a polarised labour market with riches for the few and precarious employment for the rest?
  • What will be the impact of the ageing population and shrinking workforces?
  • Are we about to enter the next boom or a prolonged period of stagnation?
  • And on top of all that there is climate change….

Forecasting the future is fraught with difficulty but fortunately we have a great panel of experts to help us find some insights from the of data that comes at us from all sides.

On our panel:

Megan Butler, Research Analyst, Cognition X
Researcher, writer and thought leader on AI in HR
"AI isn't making decisions for us, but is giving us more information to make better decisions"

David D’Souza, Membership Director, CIPD
Prolific writer and speaker on AI, automation and the future of work
"Almost everything you hear in this space will prove to be overhyped or simply untrue. It is a space full of confidently delivered guesswork”

Julia Howes, Multinational Client Group, Mercer
Lead on Mercer’s cutting edge research on demographics and the future shape of the workforce
"We cannot recruit our way out of the workforce crisis and automation is not going to save us."

Join us on 27 June for what promises to be an informative and thought-provoking discussion.
