Future Power System Architecture Phase 2 (FPSA2) Report Launch
Fri 23 June 2017, 10:00 – 16:00 BST
Please join us at the Future Power System Architecture Phase 2 (FPSA2) launch event to find out about the findings and recommendations and to engage with the project through five stakeholder workshops.
The British power system is undergoing radical transformation. The Future Power System Architecture (FPSA) programme is taking a holistic and whole system approach to the evolution of power system architecture. The FPSA programme is a multi-stakeholder collaboration led by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Energy Systems Catapult (ESC), and is sponsored by Innovate UK.
The FPSA programme seeks to create a dynamic environment in which to develop a power system architecture for the whole electricity system in Great Britain that takes a holistic and whole system perspective.
FPSA2 builds on the first phase of the project, which called on the power industry and government to focus urgently on delivering new capabilities to transform GB’s power system architecture by 2030. Therefore, making it fit to respond to the challenges presented by the energy trilemma: decarbonisation; security of supply and; affordability. FPSA2 has examined the forces changing the power system, identified and validated requirements for new functionality and innovation, assessed barriers to delivery, and proposed new approaches to implementation.
At this event, we will be launching the outputs and outcomes of the work packages that make up FPSA2 and will be looking for insightful feedback and engagement from stakeholders who operate across the power industry to develop and support future phases of the FPSA project.
A final agenda and the related workshop sessions will be circulated to registered delegates in the coming weeks.
