Future Ready: Learn to Code - Game Development Taster Session

Discover how games are made and try building one yourself. You’ll experiment with basic game design tools and explore how creative and technical skills come together to make something playable.

What to expect

By the end of the day, you’ll:

• How to design scenes that work together to form a level
• How to implement game logic - no code needed!
• How to create a simple fetch quest game

We'll also be providing light refreshments throughout the day; however, please bring your own lunch.

Who is this for?

Complete beginners aged 18 to 30. You don't need any coding experience, but you need to be confident using a computer, browsing the internet and saving files.

What do I need to bring?

If you have your own laptop, please bring this with you, otherwise, we have a limited number of devices you can borrow on the day (please indicate if this is required on sign up).

Cost

This event is free to attend. We charge a £3 booking fee, which is refunded on attending the event. Or, if you prefer, you can leave it as a donation to MadLab CIC to support future community-led events. Refunds will be processed within seven working days. If you cannot afford a ticket, please email office@madlab.org.uk with your name and postcode, and we will be in touch.
