In a world where young people are increasingly living, learning, and connecting online, youth workers have a critical role to play in creating safe, supportive, and empowering digital environments for young people.
This training series is designed to provide youth workers with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to embed digital tools into their practice while placing safeguarding at the heart of everything they do.
Session summary
This interactive half day session introduces youth workers to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its implications for youth work and young people. Participants will explore what AI is, how it functions, and its growing presence in young people’s lives.
Through interactive activities, they will have the opportunity to explore AI tools, experiment with prompts, and discuss practical applications in their work. The session will also address ethical considerations, particularly around data sensitivity and responsible AI use.
By the end, youth workers will feel more confident in exploring AI as a tool and topic in their practice.
Please note, participants may be asked to use AI models during this session, you will only be asked to use your organisations approved platform such as Microsoft CoPilot or ChatGPT, please email digitalyw@nya.org.uk should you need any guidance.
