Description

Did you know that apprenticeships can be used to support the personal development of your existing staff and there's funding available to support with the costs?

Join us at this free event to find out how apprenticeships can support with succession planning and growth aspirations of your business.

Whether you are a large or small business, your staff are the most valuable asset to your company. Investing in their personal development not only boosts morale loyalty and engagement, but with sufficient planning, you can address skills gaps and create a clear route for progression.

Hear from Paul Roberts, Managing Director of Early Talent Consulting, who will guide you on understanding how apprenticeships can be used to up-skill your existing workforce and why it is important to plan for the future.

Paul has led the Early Careers proposition for one of the world’s largest organisations for the last 10 years, before setting up his own consultancy to help others in the graduate and apprenticeship talent market. He has worked on a number of Apprenticeship Trailblazer groups, creating new Apprenticeship Standards up to degree level. Paul was recognised last year as one of the Top 30 people to know in Apprenticeship Recruitment, at number 2, and has even debated the merits of Apprenticeships at the European Parliament in Brussels.

He is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and the Association of Graduate Recruiters (AGR), where he has been part of the steering group that is transforming the organisation into the Institute of Student Employers to more accurately reflect the changing roles of its membership.

Paul has voluntary experience in the education sector having served as a school governor for over ten years and been a Director of two Multi-Academy Trusts. He is also an Enterprise Advisor for the Careers & Enterprise Council helping schools to provide appropriate careers advice strategies that connect students and businesses to increase employment prospects for young people.

We also want to hear from you as employers and will be asking the following questions through brief, facilitated round table discussions:

  • What are the barriers for small businesses when it comes to succession planning?
  • What’s missing in terms of technical and specialist qualifications needed to support progression?

Business West also want to explore your organisation's general recruitment, skills and training needs. The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete and every company that completes it will be entered in to a prize draw to win a £200, £75 or £50 for either Amazon vouchers or a Cabot Circus gift card. Take the survey today.

Please note: This event is for West of England (Bristol, Bath & North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire & North Somerset) professional and financial businesses only. Places are limited. We may only be able to offer one place per organisation/training provider.
