Future Transport: The journey ahead
Mon 22 May 2017, 17:00 – 18:30 BST
Energy Futures Lab invites you to join Shell Downstream Director John Abbott for a conversation on the Future of Transport. The session will take place in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and will be followed by an informal drinks reception.
Transport is essential to modern living. It drives economic and social development, allowing countries to trade goods and communities to connect with one another.
But with population and economic growth driving demand to unprecedented levels, the need to move more people and goods must be balanced with efforts to cut global carbon emissions and improve air quality in urban centres.
In May 2017, Shell and its partners will host a suite of events in London as part of the Make the Future campaign.
Key themes and challenges discussed at the Imperial event will also be tackled at the Make the Future London Festival, 25-28 May 2017 which provides a platform for innovation, collaboration and conversation around global energy challenges.
The event is in the City and Guilds building on Imperial College London's South Kensington campus (building 28 on the campus map). The room is best found by entering the College via the main entrance on Exhibition Road (near buildings 17 and 36). The entrance to the City and Guilds building is just behind the reception desk and to the left of the statue of Queen Victoria.
