Event description

Description

Virtual reality is now a reality. With systems such as the Oculus Rift we can now explore virtual worlds with incredible levels of realism.

This raises the question of what a virtual future will look like, across all sectors of society, from entertainment and heritage to scientific visualisation and education.

Future Virtual is a cross-faculty project to bring University of Bristol colleagues together to explore how they might incorporate VR into their research and teaching, and to engage the University with wider VR activity in the city and region.

Brigstow is hosting an ideas lunch and workshop to launch the project. There will be a chance to hear from colleagues within the university about how they are currently using VR, try out some kit and content, and to identify potential cross-cutting themes and what our needs are to further develop VR in our research and teaching.

If you are curious to find out more, please come along!

The workshop will be held 12pm-3pm on the 23rd November in the University of Bristol Innovation Lab, 40 Berkeley Square. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
