This FutureQuals awarded Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving has been developed to meet the core requirements of NHS Ambulance Trusts and Independent Ambulance providers for learners working or intending to work as emergency ambulance clinical practitioners and emergency care support staff. This qualification meets the requirement for ambulance service drivers to claim exemptions under the road traffic act and to operate to the specification of the high speed driver training regulations of the Department for Transport.

This DTAG approved qualification has been designed with extensive input from Ambulance Services. The requirement for competency is driving underpinned by knowledge of legislation but also the requirement for competency in safe response to emergency calls and the safe conveyance of patients to the definitive place of care.

This is a 4 week course of Monday to Thursday 0830-1700 with a 1:3 Instructor/Student ratio and uses a variety of modern Ambulance Blue Light vehicles from the extensive Polaris Fleet.

STUDENTS NEED TO BE WORKING FOR OR HAVE APPLIED TO WORK FOR A CQC REGISTERED AMBULANCE SERVICE OR EQUIVALENT IN ORDER TO CLAIM BLUE LIGHT TRAINING EXEMPTIONS.
