Event description

Description

The Fabian Women’s Network is delighted to invite you to the launch of the second report into FWN's standout mentoring and political education programme. The event will take place on Tuesday 19 January 2016 from 18.00 - 21.00 at the House of Commons, in the IPU Room (off Westminster Hall).

Our new report, “Footprints in the Sand: Five years of the FWN Mentoring and Political Education Programme”, explores the scheme’s powerful legacy. Mentees have stood as parliamentary candidates, run selection campaigns and secured promotions in their professional lives. They now serve as councillors, trustees and Board members; speak on panels and publish work.

Please join us as Rt Hon Baroness Jan Royall discusses the findings with the report’s author, Dr Rosie Campbell of Birkbeck, Seema Malhotra MP, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Unison and participants from the programme.

Following this, we'd be delighted if you could join us for networking drinks where we will be joined by Jess Phillips MP and Dan Jarvis MP and help us to kick FWN's 2016 off in style. It will be a great opportunity to meet new faces and to celebrate the launch of the publication and all the exciting projects we have ahead of us this year.

As you know, we couldn't run FWN's activities without your kind support. We are asking all attendees for a minimum, advance donation of £10+ booking fee to help our ongoing work, so we can deliver more women into political and public life.

Please allow 15 minutes to pass through Parliament's security.

We look forward to seeing you there!
