Description

What is the G3?

For the past two years, the Energy Societies of three of the top universities in the UK, University College London (UCL), London School of Economics (LSE) and Imperial College London (ICL) have joined forces to organize the biggest student-led energy conference in London: the G3 Energy Summit. The aim of this summit is to showcase the latest developments within the energy sector, preparing students with the knowledge needed to thrive within this industry

What is it about?

This year's summit will cover the topic "The Energy Transition: A Path of Challenges and Opportunities". Expect the following insightful panels:

  1. What is the energy mix of the future?
An overview of the energy transition and the projected developments expected from the diversification of the energy mix in the near future.

  2. What are the political and economic dimensions of implementing the energy transition?
A discussion on the role of legislation as the driving force for change, particularly the roles of governments and markets in meeting these expectations.

  3. What technological developments are required to meet the needs of the future?
An insight into the development of current and novel technologies to help steer the energy transition, covering aspects of energy generation, storage and transmission.

Each panel discussion will start with an opening keynote address and will be followed by a tea or lunch break. After our last panel discussion, we cordially invite you to stay for our two-hour long networking session.
