A lunchtime seminar for aspiring authors
Nourish mind and body with the information and inspiration to get you started in writing a business book to raise your profile as an expert in your speciality.
This interactive seminar will help you structure your thoughts and get you writing, even if you plan to start with short articles or blogs. The intention is to meet regularly to help you set deadlines and get supportive feedback as your writing progresses. Learn from each other and develop your skills.
About your hosts:
Karen Hands, author of Networking Know-how and speaking skills trainer, will share her techniques for defining your content, establishing a structure and creating a routine for writing. Watch how her second book is taking shape and apply her experience to your own writing projects. Take the opportunity to look at software options and alternative formats for publishing, and find out what you need to do to register your company as a publisher.
Stu Rutter, of Stu R Print and Design, will tell you that he "does book work" - but what does this mean for the new author? He will share with you the publishing revolution that digital printing has enabled, and what this means for the self-published author. Discover what you will need to consider beyond getting the words down and examine samples to give you ideas about what your finished product might look like.
The multi-award-winning team at The Parkers Arms will provide us with lunch while we work in their private dining room with stunning views across Waddington Fell.
