Overview

AI gait analysis shows promise for real-time ID in forensics, but privacy measures lag behind GDPR standards. Join our webinar to learn more

Gait – the pattern we exhibit when we walk – has shown promise surveillance for human identification. Paired with technologies found in artificial intelligence and computer vision, automated gait identification may be adopted in fields such as digital forensics to identify persons of interest in real-time. However, gait-based privacy practices are currently unsuitable for real-world deployment, which fall short of laws such as GDPR.

We invite you to this webinar, which discusses automated identification technologies found within the field of digital forensics and their corresponding privacy preservation techniques, and the challenges that gait anonymisation currently faces for real-world deployment.

Our speaker, Alex Howell, is a 2nd year Postgraduate Researcher at Liverpool John Moores University, working with the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the Forensic Research Institute in a multi-disciplinary venture, to explore the application of artificial intelligence to gait anonymisation for privacy preservation in real-world environments.
