Multidisciplinary approach, including; painting, performance, photography, poetry and cultural critique. Locating performance, performance related text, the performance paradigm.
"My creative output is characterised by a multidisciplinary approach that includes painting, performance, photography, poetry, and cultural critique. My most recent work is a publication called Locating Performance, Performance Related Text, and deals with the problematic of the performance paradigm. It aims to stress the importance of economy as a distinctly overriding quality inherent in all types of performance. This led to a further, DVD production based on site specific performance for the camera that attempts to find a measure of understanding of performance via three perspectives: people in the streets of The City of London, The West End of London and the people who clean and maintain the streets of London. My most recent exhibition, The Intimacy of Fortification, consisted of artworks and an extended essay."
Speaker: Maxine Saca McMinn
Time: 13:30 - 13:50h
Marketing & Events Officer, Refugee Council
The Refugee Council is one of the leading charities in the UK working directly with refugees, and supporting them to rebuild their lives. We also speak up for refugees using our direct work as an evidence base, and ensure refugees have a stronger and more influential voice in decisions that will affect them. We work with a range of partners and in collaboration to ensure we can best support our clients.
The charity was founded in 1951 in response to the UN Convention for Refugees, which was created after World War II to ensure refugees were able to find safety in other countries. Since then, the Refugee Council has provided practical and emotional support to refugees from across the world to help them rebuild their lives and play a full part in society. (...)
GaLa'rie InSoLiTe is the permanent collection of artworks that gathers the diverse range of disciplines featured by Cabaret Insolite. We are a collective of young promising artists who seek to claim justice from the structure that made us fail. This is to reiterate that we think to our hands and they think too and eventually they do it like we think. But this aint a clubbing kinda club, ain't for host kinda hosting, ain't for niche to feel niched. We are here because we've placed an interface and pledged what we fetch not just to show and grow a flow, but to lend your brain a hand and walk on that. No longer to hide that which weve been doing, clear?
