Galliard Ensemble
Overview
Former BBC New Generation Artists, the Galliard Ensemble is one of Britain’s leading chamber groups, with repertoire ranging from Mozart to Birtwistle. Now in its 30th year, the ensemble (Kathryn Thomas - flute, Owen Dennis - oboe, Katherine Spencer - clarinet, Richard Bayliss - horn, and Helen Storey - bassoon) has performed in many of the world’s leading venues and festivals, including Wigmore Hall, South Bank Centre, Bridgewater Hall and at the BBC Proms. They have also performed in Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland and Slovenia and are frequently broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and around the World.
The Galliard Ensemble is known for its virtuosic, entertaining and distinctive performance style and its recordings have been widely praised; Sunday Times, BBC Music Magazine, Gramophone, and BBC Radio 3 have all selected a Galliard Ensemble CD as outstanding or as Critics’ Choice.
Their programme features pieces by Rossini, Mozart, Couperin, Ravel, Bozza, Holst, Grainger and Patterson.

VERY IMPORTANT - please note! There is a Cavendish Village Hall in the village of Beeley (postcode DE45 2NU), 2.5 miles away at the other end of the Chatsworth Park from Edensor. This shows up when you Google "Cavendish Hall Edensor", and we have been told that one or two car SatNav systems have been wrongly locating our postcode DE45 1PJ there as well, so please check you are headed for Edensor and not Beeley before you drive off! If you Google "Peak Music Society" it will show the correct position on the map.
