Gambling Related Harms Awareness - Youth (East of England)
Event Information
About this event
This free training has been put together by GamCare, the UK's leading charity supporting problem gamblers through the Young People's Gambling Prevention Harm Programme. Having identified education as a key part of preventing harm as a result of gambling, we offer an introductory CPD accredited workshop for professionals who support young people to gain useful knowledge and practical skills to apply in their youth-facing roles.
Content includes:
- Definition, nature and incidence of problem gambling and young people
- Gambling in gaming
- How to screen for at risk young people
- How to support young people and have difficult conversations about gambling
- Where to signpost young people to access support and information
- How to make a referral to the Young People's Service
The training is a valuable addition to any safeguarding, mental health or support-worker oriented skills profile.
We encourage all youth-facing practitioners, family support workers, teaching staff and anyone with interaction with young people and their families to add this training to their CPD.
The training will be delivered by Zoom and details will be sent within 48 hours of your registration for the event. If you have any issues please email Krystal.greene@gamcare.org.uk
