Volunteers from the Gardens Trust and County Gardens Trusts are invited to join us at Stowe Landscape Garden in Buckinghamshire for our annual celebration of volunteering and its contribution to historic designed landscapes.

In our 10th anniversary year, we are particularly excited to showcase a decade of volunteering activity! We are also proud to present the winner of the 2025 Volunteer Award.

Please note, this is a free ‘thank you’ event for GT and CGT active volunteers – we look forward to seeing you!

11.30am – Welcome, by Lisa Watson, Gardens Trust Trustee

11.45-12.15pm – A Decade of Determination: looking back at10 years of volunteer achievements, by Linden Groves, Gardens Trust Head of Operations & Strategy

12.15-12.30pm – A screening of short reels for social media made by Gardens Trust volunteer-

12.30-12.45pm Presentation of the Gardens Trust’s Volunteer Award 2025

12.45-1.30pm Buffet lunch

1.30-2pm Introduction to Stowe by Tanya Brittain, National Trust General Manager at Stowe

2-3.30 Tour of Stowe gardens, led by Barry Smith, Head Gardener

3.30-4pm Tea and coffee

4-5pm – self-guided walks

By Train:

There are a number of train stations nearby: Bicester North 9 miles; Milton Keynes Central 14 miles. Taxis are available at all stations. Please contact us if you would like help organising a taxi or car share from these train stations (There will be a question at checkout for this). Direct connections from London Marylebone and Euston stations both with only a 50 minute journey.

By Car:

3 miles north-west of Buckingham town, just off the A422 Buckingham to Banbury Road. From M40 take exits 9 to 11, from M1 exits 13 or 15a. Stowe is signposted with brown tourist information signs from local routes. Entry to National Trust Stowe Gardens is via Stowe Avenue only. Turn right in front of the Corinthian Arch and approach the car park slowly. Check your route before you travel. 8 electric vehicle charging points are now available.
