The Gates Cambridge Alumni Association (GCAA) and the Scholars' Council look forward to seeing you in Cambridge, UK, this July (22-24) for a weekend of insight, networking and fun with alumni as well as current scholars!

The GCAA and the Scholars' Council are busy creating a programme of engaging and informative talks and discussions, as well as formal and informal networking opportunities. The activities are outlined below.

Programme:

Friday 22 July:

7.00pm - Informal Pub Dinner at the Grain and Hop Store (attendees will need to pay for this themselves)

Saturday 23 July (main venue: St Catharine's College):

11.00am - Registration

11.30am - Intro to the Alumni Weekend and overview of GCAA activities

12.15am - Networking workshop with alumni and current scholars

1.15pm - Lunch (offered by Gates Cambridge)

2.30pm - Alumni Panel - Topic: War in Ukraine. Panelists include Georgiana Epure, Vsevolod Kachanov and Anastasiia Kamenska

3.45pm - Coffee Break - Registered plus-ones are welcome to join from this point onward

4.15pm - In conversation with Provost Professor Barry Everitt

5.00pm - Memorial Lecture – Main Speaker: Professor Bhaskar Vira

6.15pm - Drinks Reception (offered by Gates Cambridge)

8.00pm - Informal Pub Dinner at the Salisbury Arms (attendees will need to pay for this themselves)

Sunday 24 July:

11.00am - Walk to Grantchester - meeting point is the Co-op on Grantchester Street

1.00pm - Informal Lunch (attendees will need to pay for this themselves)

FAQs

Travel and Accommodation

Alumni who plan to travel to and stay in Cambridge for the weekend will need to arrange and pay for these directly. The event budget does not allow us to cover these costs.

Guests

Alumni are welcome to bring a plus one to the informal parts of the event (Friday Informal Pub Dinner, Saturday Informal Pub Dinner, and Sunday Walk to Grantchester and Lunch) and also the Memorial Lecture. If you would like to bring a plus one, please indicate this in the 'Additional Information' section of the registration form including their name and which parts they will attend.

Will the event be live streamed?

Parts of the event will be live streamed, including the Alumni Panel – Topic: War in Ukraine, In Conversation with Professor Barry Everitt, and the Memorial Lecture. Details on how to join virtually can be found in July's Alumni e-Bulletin.
