Event description

Description

The Gateways to the First World public engagement centre was launched in January 2014 with funding from the Arts and Humanities and Research Council (AHRC). The centre aimed to support outreach, engagement and collaboration between researchers and community groups throughout the UK who were interested in researching and commemorating the First World War during the centenary of the conflict.

The centre's funding will finish at the end of 2019, bringing the project to a close. This event at the Institute of Historical Research will mark the end of the project, celebrate the successes of the groups and organisations we've worked with, and reflect on what we have learned over the last five years.

Programme:

10:30: Registration, tea and coffee

11:00 - 12:00: Talks from members of the Gateways team

12:00 - 12:30: Gateways Community Heritage Researcher film
