Gathering Perspectives
Event Information
About this event
Gathering Perspectives is a CABN event for creative practitioners working (or seeking to work) with groups, communities, or in healthcare settings and aims to support their professional development through a mix of inspiring presentations, discussions and networking opportunities.
The experiences of the last two years have led to a stronger understanding and recognition of the life enhancing outcomes that engagement with the arts can deliver and, as a result, there is increased demand and opportunities for practitioners to work in new ways.
Introduced by Mary Morrison (Leader, CABN) and Lara Greene (CABN Advocate - Public Art & Community Engagement /Transform Arts CIC) the morning will consist of peer to peer discussion, practical advice and resources and inspiring presentations from a variety of speakers including: Lara Armitage (At Birkhill House CIC), Rachael Honeyman (Health in Mind), Jane Davidson MBE (Director of Education and Outreach at Scottish Opera Production Studios), Iain Piercy (artist working with Scottish Opera), Clare Gillespie (NHS Borders Music Therapist and Queen Margaret University tutor) and Steph Mackenzie (Mental Health Improvement Specialist, Joint Health Improvement Team NHS Borders).
The event will be followed by a networking lunch at Tower Mill to continue the creative conversations. A full itinerary will be sent out to all attendees in due course.
This event builds on the partnership between CABN and the Joint Health Improvement Team at NHS Borders/Scottish Borders Council – which led to the RISE Symposium in 2018 and the establishment of the RISE Arts & Wellbeing Group.
Refreshments and lunch provided
PLEASE NOTE:
Places will be limited to ensure Covid safety compliance and also to enable exchange and discussion in smaller breakout groups.
