Let's dance like everyone is watching!

About this Event

LGBTQ Sober and Gay Dance Party.

Have you also been on nights out where gay clubs are fuelled with alcohol, drugs, sex and the sound of whispers echoing ‘bitch doesn’t look good in those jeans’? Because of these very things, I stopped doing what I loved – dancing! The drawbacks of alcohol, drugs, darkrooms and rank attitudes didn’t match my moves and grooves. Sure, we can have a party all alone in our living room, or continue to visit the alcohol-fuelled gay venues and try to ignore the alcohol-fuelled zones. But, something more ignites when you dance with other like-minded sober gays.

Let's challenge what most gay venues have come to normalise. We step out of the artificially fed climate, and allow our essential self to go 'sober and out’.

Top up your serotonin with music and smiles from other revellers, allow it all to fuel your moves on the dance floor.

Dance your way out of the gay matrix, and dare yourself to wear something that you wouldn’t normally wear. Dare yourself to dance like everyone is watching!

What makes this Gay Sober Party different?

You will be free to anonymously send me a brief outline of a problem that you might be facing or an emotion that you want to heighten. I collaborate with my chosen DJ to curate the dance tracks with you in mind. Binaural audio is added to the tracks and not only do we have a recipe for a great party but we also have natural treatment on the dance floor.

No alcohol / no smoking / no chems or legal highs / no cell phones.

Dancing (like hugs) are so much like meditation and laughter. Dancing teaches us to let go and be present in the moment. It encourage us to flow with the energy of life. Hugs get you out of your circular thinking patterns and connect you with your heart and your feelings and your breath. Not everyone likes to be hugged so look out for the 'hug-mongers' that don't mind.

Who am I?I am an internationally certified cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist and the training I received is the only hypnotherapy qualification approved by The British Psychological Society.

I'm gay and was the member of the cast of one of America’s leading award-winning TV drama’s. I’ve spent lots of time around drama and if you decide to join these parties, then I need your moves to create a lot of drama on the dancefloor.

Sober & Out,

Ray
