Event description

Welcome to the new exciting series of online learning sessions by Green Building Encyclopaedia!

The first three webinars 'How to take action now', focus on what we believe are the priorities for a more sustainable built environment: warming climate mitigation, environmentally conscious retrofit, and starting here, circular economy.

Whether you are a sustainability expert or simply interested in the subject, this webinar will enable you to solidify your basic knowledge on Circular Economy and will give you a direction for further research and learning in the subject.

We will focus on Circular Economy for buildings, with a particular eye to resource efficiency, to better target this issue to the built environment.

We will touch on definitions, current barriers, statistics, targets and we will then drill down each stage of the building cycle:

  • Life cycle thinking at brief stage
  • Designing out waste and resource efficiency
  • Assembly, deconstruction and reassembly techniques
  • Minimising waste in construction
  • Minimising waste in demolition stage
  • Online tools, software and other resources available.

With the assistance of a sustainability consultants coach, we will also discuss strategies for approaching clients on this issue and bringing a positive influence into project teams.

We encourage audience participation throughout and will end the session with a Q&A with your expert presenters.
