To mark the launch of the 2017 Seminar Programme, Garden Court North Chambers' Housing Team is delighted to present
'I can't let you in!'
This seminar will address a particular area of possession and injunction proceedings for breach of tenancy concerning tenants that hoard belongings and/or will not give access to their homes.
It will consider not only how to defend those proceedings but also alternative remedies for addressing many of the issues that arise including the use of community care and safeguarding measures under the Care Act 2014. The seminar will also consider the developing understanding of what causes and exacerbates hoarding disorders and how that should influence the steps taken by social landlords to address them. The seminar will also consider the role of the Court of Protection in hoarding cases.
The seminar will be followed by Christmas drinks.
