Event description

Description

Workshop 2, 28th March 2017 GCRF: Humanities priorities for the next major calls
2.00pm (lunch available from 1.30pm)

Professor Diana Mitlin, Managing Director of the Global Development Institute, along with Julia Brunt, Programme Manager, GDI, will consider the Humanities approach and response to GCRF. They will look at our achievements to date and the emerging interdisciplinary research themes and ideas that have been developing in GDI around the Addressing Global Inequalities Beacon. A workgroup session will then invite colleagues to consider how they could contribute to and develop priority research areas. Interested colleagues at all career stages and across all disciplines are encouraged to join this workshop to share their ideas and to network with other participants. (NB A note of potential priority areas for discussion will be distributed to registered participants in advance of the meeting.)

**The Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF) is a 5-year £1.5 billion funding stream to support cutting-edge research that addresses challenges faced by developing countries. Funded mainly through partnerships involving the Research Councils and Academies, GCRF forms part of the UK Official Development Assistance and delivering impact for developing countries is a central priority.**
