Event description

Description

2019 marks 20 years of devolution, one of the most significant constitutional changes in the UK in a generation.

It created the Scottish Parliament, Welsh Assembly and Northern Ireland Assembly, and means that decisions about areas like education, policing and health are taken in the nations affected by them.

And in other vital areas including security, defence, the economy and EU Exit, the UK Government and devolved governments work together to make UK-wide decisions.

But what does all this mean for us as government communicators?

In this session you’ll learn:

  • What devolution is, how it works, and who is responsible for what.

  • Insight and learnings from communications teams delivering activity in Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland

  • What that means for your work, so you can communicate successfully with communities across the UK.

This session is for IO - G6 working in press, campaigns, strategic communications and visits roles.
