Event description

Description

Government led reforms mean that the GCSE maths examinations are now more challenging than ever with an increase in both content and complexity, plus greater emphasis on problem solving and mathematical reasoning. Not surprisingly, students are keen to ensure that their exam preparations are as comprehensive and streamlined as possible in the run up to their exams.

This intensive two - day revision course is designed for Year 11 students sitting the GCSE Maths (9-1) Foundation Tier papers in May and June 2018. It aims to inspire and boost confidence as student approach the final few weeks before the GCSE exams and ensure students are fully prepared for the challenges and greater rigour of the GCSE exams. This course is for students aiming for a grade 4 or 5, who need an extra push to step-up to the next grade.

The course will be designed to focus on topics thats students commonly find challenging with particular emphasis given to the transference of these skills to questions in unfamiliar contexts. We also request information from each student in advance of the course on the topics and skills that they wish to cover so that we can structure the course around their needs and optimise revision time.
