About this event

GDIF x The Reach: Climbing Freed with Antoine Le Menestrel

Greenwich+Docklands International Festival and The Reach Climbing Centre present Climbing Freed, or 'Escalade Liberee', a film by legendary climber and pioneer in sport climbing and vertical dance, Antoine Le Menstrel.

Climbing Freed tells the story of his life, career, and a sport-defining moment at the cliffs of Buoux. Antoine will then discuss the film and his parkour company Lezards Bleus’ takeover of Woolwich Town Centre on 22 August 2025, followed by a question and answer session.

An incredible opportunity for climbing and dance enthusiasts to meet a revolutionary athlete and artist. Originally rising to fame for daring solos that changed both British and French climbing, he is now known as a choreographer and dancer, bringing jaw dropping parkour to huge audiences.

For more on Antoine's company's performance at Greenwich+Docklands International Festival, go to: https://festival.org/gdif/whats-on/above-and-beyond/.

Climbing Freed is presented in French, with English subtitles. Antoine will be speaking in a mixture of French and English, and aided by a translator.

Places are limited, so book a free ticket to be guaranteed entry.
