Description

The impact of GDPR on SMEs– 3-pronged approach to compliance;

This workshop will be delivered by 3 people, each with different areas of expertise. It will give an overview of the steps needed to comply to the new regulation.

Initially, we will delve into the benefits of moving users to Microsoft Enterprise licenses, or ensuring you are utilising you Enterprise license – as this will assist clients in complying with GDPR. It will cover:

  • Azure directory

  • Azure Security centre

  • Data Encryption in Azure Storage

  • Azure Key vault

  • Log Analytics

We will give a demonstration and overview of how these products can assist in auditing (which is an essential element of GDPR) and how the Microsoft 0365 applications can be used for adhering to articles of the regulation- such as the right of erasure, providing data subjects with their stored data, etc.

Then we will explore the necessary security measures such as;

  • Server – Requires a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Plan with full off site back up in a secure data centre

  • Password Policy – needs a policy implemented to lock PCs after 60 Seconds

  • change password policy every 30 daysUSB Ports

  • Should consider disabling USB Ports on staff PCs

  • Laptops / Mobiles / Mobile devices – should consider encryption and remote management for these devices.

Finally, we will discuss widening the scope of policies, and how Microsoft products can be utilised to comply with the GDPR and incorporated into working processes; here we will outline the generic elements, before being on hand to answer questions on specifics.
