General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), will come into effect on the 25th of May 2018 and is the largest European data regulation ever made with massive financial implication for anyone who will not comply.
This meetup will clarify in detail what GDPR will be about and will present Blockchain solutions to achieve GDPR compliance.

is Executive Fellow and Director of the GDPR Transition Programme at Henley Business School and founder of GO DPO®. Former senior manager at Accenture, he’s recognised as one of the leading data protection practitioners in Europe and founder/Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Data Protection and Privacy. He has Cabinet Office and Ministerial-level consultancy experience and is in demand as a keynote speaker speak around the world on GDPR, having spoken and chaired 40 conferences in 2017!
He consults for a number of multi-national clients in financial services, banking, automotive, technology and infrastructure sectors and his latest book, GDPR Handbook: How to Implement the General Data Protection Regulation is published globally in June 2018 by Kogan Page.
He also presents a special 60-minutes on-line interactive training video on GDPR and recently completed a 10-minute animation on GDPR for contact centre staff. A Fellow of several institutes, Ardi is an advisor and examiner for the British Computer Society professional certificates in data protection and is Master of Laws, King’s College London and an elected member of BAFTA.
He's delivering a special GDPR Workshop for the Clerks of Livery Companies in February 2018 and is a judge of ICO Practitioner Award for Excellence in Data Protection to recognise those practitioners who go above and beyond when it comes to data protection. In October 2017, he entered the BAME100 List.
Julie Choo - Financial data connectivity expert - Author
Julie works on operating model strategy directly with more senior decision makers in several organisations including banks and more recently in telco, media, auto and pharma and get involved with the valuation of startups and how their services can be introduced into the value chains of larger corporates.
One of her key projects within the book she will publish in 2018 (The Strategy Journey) and in general is advising several companies including banks, on how best to leverage blockchain and/or integrate via the cloud with services that are using blockchain to bring in additional capabilities and to replace their legacy technical and capability debt. On the investment banking side, she is working with several groups via a partner consultancy, to define a common domain model to increase data connectivity between the banks and to deliver cost savings and of course the aim to ensure that there are fintech startups using blockchain to support this effort.
The Pillar Project - Building a personal data wallet
One of the early very successful ICO of July 2017, the Pillar project is developing a personal wallet fully GDPR complaint that will give back control of people owns personal data.
With a community of 17,000 volunteers and growing exponentially, 2018 will be a key year for the Pillar project. one of the board member will join the panel and will share their view on what the future of personal data might look like.
