Event description

Description

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into force across the EU on 25 May 2018. It will have a huge impact on the way organisations collect, process and share data.

Organisations should act now to define their GDPR roadmap in a bid to understand the work involved and ensure that any costs are factored into budgets.

NCC Group will be holding a breakfast briefing about the new legislation and breach notification on 5 October at NCC Group Manchester office, XYZ Building, 3 Hardman Boulevard, Spinningfields, Manchester M3 3AQ.

Agenda

  • An overview of GDPR

  • Best practice advice for dealing with breach disclosure

  • An overview of the legal & regulatory implications of data breaches in the UK

  • Q&A session

Speakers

Tim Anderson, Associate Director, NCC Group

Tim is currently responsible for the commercial creation and the associated commercial strategies for NCC Group’s advanced cyber defence capabilities.

Stephen Bailey, Head of Privacy, NCC Group’s Risk Management and Governance Practice
Stephen leads the privacy team at NCC Group and is well versed in GDPR and actively involved in delivering a number of GDPR engagements with clients. Stephen has previously spent four years in a DPO-related role and is a firm believer in the need to operationalise the GDPR so it works alongside an organisation’s activities, rather than disrupting them.
