About this event

We all have a role to play to keep people in our MS community safe. Data protection is all about keeping personal data safe and so protecting the rights and privacy of individuals. It's a legal requirement that any volunteer who uses or records people’s data on behalf of the MS Society receives regular training.

We're now launching our new GDPR Keeping Data Safe course. Any volunteer with a role which may involve access to personal data and who has not done GDPR training in the last two years will need to complete it. This includes access to personal information on paper and/or online (such as through an MS Society email account or the Portal).

If you've received an email notification to say that you need to do the training, but are having trouble accessing or completing it, join one of these sessions. We'll also have one of our GDPR experts available to answer any specific questions you may have.

This meeting will take place via Zoom, a video conferencing application (similar to FaceTime or Skype) which allows you to participate via your PC at home, your tablet or your mobile phone. You may need to download the Zoom app to your device before you join a session.

When you join an online session, you can see and interact with the other participants on your screen. You can choose to use your device’s camera or to just be a voice in the discussion. You can also simply join the meeting by phone, including from a landline.

Once you have registered for an event, the information for joining the meeting will be emailed to you.
