GDPR for HR - practical guidance on how employers can comply with GDPR
Event Information
Description
The General Data Protection Regulations come into force on 25 May 2018 and whilst there is a lot of hype around the impact on your marketing and IT, and the large fines that may be involved, the personal data you keep on your staff is arguably the bigger risk area. Employees are more likely to make access requests and complain about data breaches than marketing prospects, particularly if they become disgruntled.
- Do I need employee's consent to store their personal data?
- Can I keep job applicants details on file?
The answers to these and many other questions regarding the impact on GDPR on the handling of employee data will be detailed in this seminar hosted by Karen Coleman, Specialist Employment Solicitor from Excello Law.
Eith support from students and academics under the Keele Research and Innovation Support programme, Karen has developed a practical guidance pack for employers which explains how GDPR will impact on the different elements of the employer/employer relationship such as recruitment and absence management.
All seminar attendees will be presented with the GDPR for HR guidance pack (first 100 packs will otherwise be available at a special discounted price of £45 plus VAT) which will enable them to know whether their current data handling practises are compliant and what is required to make them compliant.
The focus of this seminar will be on giving employers the knowledge to make their employee data handling GDPR compliant.
Plus there will be a breakfast spread with teas, coffees, bacon and sausage baps, pastries, fruit and yoghurt!
If you are unable to make this day and time, then there is now a second event being held on 3 May 2018 10am till 12.30pm.
