GDPR enforcement is just around the corner and will have a dramatic effect on how organisations collect and process data, and how they dispose of end-of-life IT equipment. This lunchtime seminar, organised by AMI, will cut through the jargon and share some practical ideas on how to be prepared for 25th May 2018.

Data Protection is one of the specialist practice areas covered by Tughans' dedicated Contracts & Technology team. This team is led by Adrian O'Connell, Partner. For more than 15 years now, Adrian has worked with a wide range of clients (including, private sector companies and public authorities) in support of their compliance with UK Data Protection legislation. Through this work, Adrian can demonstrate a comprehensive and specialist knowledge of the workings of UK Data Protection legislation, as well as an ability to respond quickly and commercially to the issues raised from time to time by clients. On the subject of Data Protection, Adrian and his team have published numerous articles, and delivered seminars and training to professional bodies and clients alike.

13.30 - 13.45 - Steve Mellings, Founder and CEO at ADISA 

Steve will give a presentation to help companies understand their relationship with data processors. Steve has over 15 years’ experience in asset retirement working with industry, global manufacturers and personally helping to write and implement asset disposal policies for some of the largest organisations in the world.

 Stephen Wray, Director at Deloitte 

Stephen joined Deloitte’s Belfast Technology Services centre as Director Cyber Risk Services in May 2016. Stephen leads on Cyber Innovation within the firm. He has 18 years’ experience of technology licensing and scaling technology start-ups, spending 6 years as Commercial Director of The ECIT Institute at Queen's University Belfast. ECIT includes The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT) which is the UK’s National Innovation and Knowledge Centre (IKC) for cyber security.


14.00 - 14.30 - Q&A Session

AMI will also discuss their recent whitepaper highlighting the results of their TechPro survey around IT Disposal Practices. All event attendees will receive a copy. Event attendees will have the opportunity to network with senior IT decision-makers and GDPR experts, and gain valuable insights into how to prepare for the coming regulation.
