Event description

Description

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – What you need to know and what you need to do (Glasgow)

Registration: 12:45 | Event: 13:00-16.30 beginning with a lunch and general discussion

GDPR will have a significant impact on how cultural organisations deal with personal data, particularly in the context of fundraising and marketing and getting it wrong could result in significant fines.

The training will be delivered by Laura Irvine, BTO Solicitors, who presented at the recent Arts & Business Scotland Development Forum on 26 October 2017.

The event will cover:

• Data Protection Basics
• GDPR Highlights
• Marketing Pitfalls

laura will also use real life examples and break-out sessions to work through some data protection problems that attending arts and heritage organisations might have to deal with.

Responses to Laura’s GDPR presentation at our recent Development Forum:

Laura Irvine was an excellent, engaging speaker making an initially dry subject interesting and entertaining.
Ben Spencer, Arts consultant

Most positive session on GDPR I have attended!
Moira McFadden, East Renfrewshire Culture and Leisure Trust
