Event description

Description

The introduction of the new data protection legislation in May 2018 caused a lot of confusion and panic for businesses in the UK with an estimated 40% still failing to comply by the time the law came into force.

Now 6 months on, this session will look at the approach that the regulator, the Information Commissioners Office, has taken to breaches, the fines that have been imposed and the lessons that have been learnt. We will also look at how the GDPR rules have been interpreted and if there is now greater clarity for businesses as to what they should and should not be doing to get their house in order
