This important networking and training event is the first of its kind organised by Common Weal. It is designed to bring Common Weal local groups from across Scotland together with Indy activists and campaigners who support Common Weal ideas and are committed to creating a better Scotland. Expect a highly interactive and participative gathering to learn, discuss, inspire and plan for the political challenges ahead.

Undoubtedly the 2014 referendum was transformational for many people in Scotland, creating a political awakening and fuelling a desire and energy for knowledge and change. In addition to the Common Weal providing well researched studies and proposals for the major issues of the day, the Common Weal Locals have actively focussed on political education, community campaigns, social enterprises, local democracy and the case for an independent Scotland.

But a lot has changed since 2014. As we prepare to face a post-Brexit UK, and with the prospect of imminent political change, it’s time to take things to the next level - we’re gearing up. We want to campaign more effectively, organise better events, take more Common Weal ideas and bring them to life in our local areas. It’s up to us to grow this movement so we can confidently and unapologetically create the Common Weal Scotland we know it can be.

We urge all passionate Common Locals, Indy groups, and any Common Weal supporters who want to train up and gear up to be a part of creating social change to take this opportunity and join us on the 29th September for this not to be missed event.
