Event description
GeeWizz Charity are inviting families with children who have additional needs or disabilities to enjoy a VIP day at our Pumpkin Patch.

About this Event

A Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze hosted by Bury St Edmunds based GeeWizz Charity, will return to Hall Farm, Fornham St Martin this year between Saturday 19th and Sunday 27th October.

An exclusive private viewing event will launch the 100% charity Pumpkin Patch & Maize Maze on Saturday 19th October 2019, where children and young adults with life-threatening conditions, disabilities, and sensory or additional needs are invited to enjoy a memorable day out with their families, receiving a free hot chocolate and pumpkin, before the patch opens to the public on Sunday 20th October.

The private viewing day, kindly sponsored by Treatt plc, is designed to ensure that the children can participate in selecting their own pumpkin in a safe, calm and quiet environment.

Daemmon Reeve, CEO of Treatt plc says, “Treatt takes great pride in supporting causes which matter to our people; therefore, we are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s charity Pumpkin Patch and Maize Maze event in support of GeeWizz.”

“The private viewing day will enable local children and their families to enjoy a fun and memorable day out at the farm; giving children the chance to learn about how pumpkins are grown, as well as providing them with an opportunity to hand-pick their own pumpkins to take home.”

Accessible for wheelchair users too, GeeWizz wanted to make sure the pumpkin patch is open to everyone. Disabled parking is available, whilst the patch itself is on flat, level ground.

Gina Long MBE, founder of GeeWizz Charity says, “It was so important for us to ensure that the Pumpkin Patch is accessible to absolutely everyone, particularly those who rarely get to enjoy a day out as a family due to large crowds, or disrupting, noisy places.”

“With the help of Treatt, we can give families who attend not just a hot chocolate and a pumpkin, but special memories that will last forever.”

GeeWizz is a very special, small charity based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. They are focussed on supporting children and young adults in Suffolk and Norfolk who sadly suffer from life-threatening conditions, a disability or cancer.
