Gemmology Drop-In Session

Are you a Gem-A student wishing to work on your testing skills? If so, come along to this drop in session where you can have access to Gem-A's gemstone collection. You would spend the day in the classroom with Gem-A tutors and fellow students.

You could be wanting to work on specific gemstones, or maybe preparing for a practical examination and want some additional practice.

Please note that this is currently for coloured stones, not diamonds.

There will be no formal teaching or mock exams, however, a Gem-A tutor will be on hand for guidance and instruments will be available.

This practical drop-in will be 10am to 4pm with a 1 hour break for lunch.

If you have specific requests in advance, (e.g. you want to work on synthetic stones, organic materials, specific gem species such as beryl or corundum), or you wish to practice specific skills (e.g. refractometer, spectroscope, microscope) then just let us know and we can have these ready for you.
