Research shows that people are happier and more productive in environments where they can be themselves without fear of harassment. While society is becoming more accepting of sexual diversity, homophobia still exists in many institutions, negatively impacting the lives of LGBT individuals. This training explores gender and sexuality, providing participants with essential knowledge and skills to address these issues within their organizations. We'll cover key LGBT+ terms, the impact of language, and strategies for supporting LGBTQ+ youth.

Participants will be able to:

  • Discuss attitudes toward lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals
  • Address stereotypes, judgments, and assumptions about sexuality
  • Identify ways to support LGBTQ+ young people
  • Develop professional practices that ensure LGBT+ inclusivity

Please note: This training is free for professionals in Thurrock. If you have any questions, please email the team at thurrock.education@brook.org.uk.

The session will be held online via Zoom.
